Librarian I
George F. Johnson Library / Part-time / M-F, 19 hr/wk, includes 1 evening shirft per week and rotating Saturdays
Pay Rate: $26.15 - $28.40/hr

Provide reference and reader’s advisory services to library users in person, as well as via phone, online chat, email, etc.
• Facilitate patron reserves and interlibrary loan requests
• Instruct the public in the proper use of library technology and resources
• Assist in collection development, recommending titles for purchase and/or deletion
• Conduct tours, book discussion groups, story times, and other programs as assigned
• Maintain and create reader’s advisory lists as directed
• Keep informed of professional developments
• Prepare library materials for circulation
• Work with colleagues to maintain the overall aesthetics of the Children’s Room
• Create library displays and marketing materials under the direction of the Head of Youth Services
• Write grants to obtain funding for children’s programs and services

Broome County is seeking an experienced professional engineer to serve as the Department of Public Works Deputy Commissioner of Engineering. The Deputy Commissioner is responsible for supervising the County engineering staff who manage the design and construction of all Broome County engineering projects under the jurisdiction of Public Works. Additionally, this position consults with and advises the Commissioner, Budget Director, and other County officials in determining which capital and non-recurring repairs and replacement projects best meet the needs of the County.
The successful candidate must possess NYS PE license, and thorough knowledge of civil engineering practices and principles, with preferred experience in both design and construction administration. A good working knowledge of budgeting and financial record keeping, personnel administration, supervision, and administrative practices and controls are critical. The candidate must possess the ability to work cooperatively and effectively communicate with department staff, other department managers, and members of the public.
