Emergency Services
Mission Statement
To provide planning, training, resources, response, warning, coordination and information through communications to the public, elected officials and public safety agencies to assist them in preparing for, responding to and mitigating emergencies and disasters which affect the residents of Broome County.
The Office is comprised of four divisions:
Communications - administers the Broome County Emergency Dispatch/911 Center.
Disaster Preparedness - conducts hazard vulnerability studies, provides Disaster Planning and preparedness for response and recovery.
Emergency Medical Services - administers NYS certified emergency medical training programs. Plans for adequate delivery of emergency medical services and coordinates mutual aid among EMS providers.
Fire Prevention & Control - administers NYS Fire Training program, County Fire Mutual Aid Plan, Broome County Hazardous Materials Response Team, Broome County Wildland Search & Rescue Team and County Fire Investigation Team.
