BINGHAMTON, NY - Broome County Executive Barbara J. Fiala is pleased to announce, Dan Ewing, as the interim Commissioner of the Broome County Public Transportation Department. Ewing is a 15 year Broome County Government employee. He began his career in the budget office before moving over to B.C. Transit 11 years ago. He currently serves as the B.C. Transit Director of Administration.

Ewing will temporarily replace John Kowalchyk. Kowalchyk announced last month that he has accepted a position as Commissioner of Waste Management for the Town of Brookhaven on Long Island. His last day with the county will be April 21st.

A search for a permanent Public Transportation Commissioner is underway.
