Legislator Marinich was first elected to the County Legislature in November, 2002. Jerry was selected by his  peers to serve as the Minority Leader for the 2009-2010 legislative term. Jerry was previously the Personnel Committee Chair in 2005-2006. His work and experience covers a wide range of departments and services, including Personnel, Civil Service, County Employees, District Attorney, Public Defender, Emergency Services, Sheriff, Probation, Civil Defense, Fire Coordination, Traffic Safety, Security, highways and bridges, flood protection, soil conservation, recycling, and landfill operations

Mr. Marinich has assisted area residents for more than 30 years by working as a career firefighter and emergency medical responder. His participation in the community has included taking part in youth activities, helping fellow members of St. Mark's Episcopal Church by participating in outreach programs, and as a member of the Hillcrest Rotary.

Jerry and his wife, Melody, reside in the Town of Chenango. The Marinich family includes two sons, one daughter, one daughter-in-law and two grandsons.
