In the 2007-2008 legislative term, Jason sponsored more legislation than any other legislator, which included eliminating sales tax on residential solar panels, requiring the county by law to purchase more cost-effective energy star appliances, increasing fines for littering on county property, and creating a energy advisory board to help reduce Broome County’s energy costs. He also led an effort to bring a Reverse 911 Emergency Notification System to Broome County.

He is proud to support many county construction projects that have emerged in his legislative district in the past two years, including the Binghamton Intermodal Bus Station, rehabilitation of the George Harvey Justice Building, development of the Downtown Binghamton Incubator, and the construction of a new Science and Technology building at Broome Community College.

Jason is committed to making Broome County Government more accountable to the taxpayers of Broome County by increasing the efficiency and quality of basic government services. He supports an open government policy and meets with his constituents frequently to hear their ideas and concerns. Jason is dedicated to making Broome County a cleaner, safer, and more affordable place to live.

Jason has taught 11th Grade American History for the past 9 years at the Family Foundation School. For the past 5 years, he has served as the History Department Chairman. He has coached the Girl's Varsity Softball team, and is an active member of the school's mentoring program.

Jason is a 1999 graduate of Binghamton University, earning a bachelor's degree in History. He resides with his wife Amanda and sons Nolan and Miles at 564 Chenango Street in the City of Binghamton
