Julie A. Lewis is serving her first term as legislator as of January 2011, representing district 6, which is Southeast Vestal,   and most of the towns of Binghamton and Conklin.    
Some of Julie’s legislative goals are to repeal the confiscation of mineral rights on foreclosed properties, and to lower taxes through future gas drilling revenue and reduced spending. 
Appointed as Chair of the Public Health and Environment Committee, member of the Human Services Committee and member of the Finance Committee, Julie looks forward to collaborating between the various county departments and the residents of Broome County. She has also been appointed to serve on the Emergency Services Board.
Julie is the small business owner of Julie Lewis Photography, and a substitute teacher for Johnson City Schools. She has extensive involvement in community activities including Vice President of the Joint Landowners Coalition of NY, Chairperson of the Upstate NY Chapter of the National Association of Wedding Professionals, and current Chair for the Vestal Center Community Picnic. Previously, Julie served as Crew Chief on the Vestal Volunteer Emergency Squad, and was former Chair of the Cub Scout Pack 223 Blue & Gold Dinner.
Julie has been married to husband, Mark, for over 20 years. They reside in Vestal Center in their old, family farmhouse with their six children: Tim, Nick, Mikayla, Josh, Rachel, and Kelly, two horses, a bunch of chickens, and two cats.
